A Quinquennial Inspection was carried out in May 2000 by our architect A. C. Clague. This established that urgent work was required to rectify serious structural problems, prevent water ingress, and make the building safe for continued use. Following this, Clague was commissioned to prepare specifications for the work and obtain estimates from approved building contractors.

Additional work required to repair historic fabric which is at risk amounts to £40,650, with further building services required estimated to cost £5,400.

When VAT and architect's and other professional fees are added, the total for building works amounts to £182,128.

Refurbishment of the organ is estimated to cost about £18,000, so that the total required amounts to £200,000.
